Maria Cole is architect and Senior Associate at klipp and holds a BARCH from Carnegie Mellon University. Through Davis Partnership Architects she had the opportunity to work with Daniel Libeskind on the Denver Art Museum Expansion, David Adjaye on the Museum of Contemporary Art | Denver and Anchor Center for Blind Children.
She has received multiple design awards, including the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in Fine Arts, and was named the American Institute of Architects Western Mountain Region “Young Architect of the Year” in 2003 and AIA Denver’s “Young Architect of the Year” in 2002. She is committed to fostering the creative vitality in Denver, and serves on the Mayor’s Commission of Cultural Affairs and chairs the City and County of Denver’s 1% for art program.
She will be teaching a Upper Level Studio for the Masters of Architecture program at the University of Colorado in the fall of 2008 entitled “Questioning the Spectacular: A Phenomological Architecture”.
Nancy Eastman founded Art of the Land, On the Prairie in 1998 after a long career in interior design. Her love of the natural world led to her integration of art, design, and craftsmanship in both indoor and outdoor environments. Nancy is an artisan both in design and fieldwork-creating an evolving natural beauty.
Nancy has lectured and published on various design, art, and landscape topics. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Colorado State University, she studied graduate-level art at the University of Iowa.
Sheridan Samano is a professor of biology at the Community College of Aurora and an instructor for the Rocky Mountain gardening certificate program at the Denver Botanic Gardens. Her education includes degrees in Wildlife and Fisheries Science from Texas A&M University and Biology from the University of Colorado-Denver. When she’s not in front of the classroom, you can find her designing customized itineraries to biological hotspots across the globe and acting as lead guide for her company Peregrine Tours.
