Susan Tobias will show you how surprisingly easy it is to have the rewards of eggs and more, and will turn you into a chicken convert. Learn how to start baby chicks out safely, how they develop and change and start showing personalities. Susan will show how to keep your chickens safe from predators and how to keep them from hurting themselves. She will cover housing, feed, watering equipment and changing needs as the seasons change. Finally, she will address egg production, egg safety, and egg facts and fallacies. As a special treat, you will meet her favorite chicken “Lucy”, who will help you learn the names of all a chicken’s physical attributes. Class held at Chatfield.
