with Topher Delaney, an environmental and landscape artist who grew up among artists, spending time as a child in Isamu Noguchi’s studio. She is the founder of SEAM Studio in San Francisco, and her work has encompassed a wide breadth of international projects, receiving numerous awards and honors.

Trough an extensive span of garden images, Topher will discuss the process of her involvement for the design of both private and public gardens. In particular, she will spotlight her process involving the exploration of a client’s first six years on the planet. During initial interviews and consultations, Topher explores her client’s earliest exterior memories, such as the location of their childhood bedrooms-specifically focusing on the light and the view, if any. Topher will discuss how this process of remembering is imperative to the final goal of her garden designs, which is to integrate a client’s cultural/spiritual value system in relationship to their unique site.
