Historic Fairmount Cemetery boasts more than 300 roses of at least 59 varieties, many of them from the 1800s. Participate in the preservation of these beauties through botanical illustration as you learn to capture the important aspects of roses where they grow. Take your field sketches, notes and a clipping from a specimen to the classroom to create finished watercolor painting of these gorgeous blossoms. Explore new methods for managing complex perspective, color and texture of roses. Try this class for the first time or come back after last year’s session. Your finished work can be included in a planned publication. Prerequisite: Pencil I, Color Mixing for Artists, Watercolor I
