In this intensive two-day workshop, build your own uniquely shaped birdbaths or statuary using a technique called hand-formed concrete sculpture. Learn the basics of making a simple mold and/or armatures for sculptures as you form your own birdbath basin or statue. Add colorful mosaics with materials provided by the instructor or your personal treasures: seashells, shards of your favorite broken pottery, earrings, glass beads or jewelry. Learn where to purchase a suitable stand or make one of your own from the same materials used in class. The book Creating with Concrete: Yard Art, Sculpture and Garden Projects may inspire your creation prior to class. Class may partially be held outside, so please dress appropriately.
