Composting in Your Own Backyard - Urban Homestead Series

July 20, 12:30 PM-3:00 PM
Denver Botanic Gardens

$36.00 (Member Price) / $41.00 (Non-Member Price)

Soil is the foundation of our food supply and all that we gow. Compost is one of the best enriching, enlivening meals we can feed the soil and our plants. Creating and using compost helps create good soil tilth and leads to vibrant, healthy plants, especially in Western gardens lacking in organic matter. Come learn the art and science of building fertility through composting-nature’s recycling process. The class will cover different types of backyard compost systems, the art and science of building healthy compost piles, materials to use, where to find them, to turn or not to turn your compost, on-going maintenance, problem-solving, and more. Please wear work clothes, bring work gloves, a notebook and a hat.
