Trees are a fundamental part of any landscape
design, but tough climate and soils in our state
make tree selection and growth challenging. This
seminar provides an overview of shade, ornamental
and conifer trees, both common and unusual,
that can be grown in Colorado. Individual trees
will be discussed in the classroom using slides and
samples, followed by a field trip to Regis University
to see trees in a park-like setting where they have
been able to attain mature size. Cultural and
maintenance requirements will be covered.
Instructor: Tim Buchanan
“This class exceeded my expectation. . . . I loved
his slides of mature trees and his years of experience
and stories about how trees mature. I
am very pleased I took this class.”
Dress for an outdoor walk for the Regis
field trip. No materials required.
