Saturday, July 18, 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Where are those plants? Where’s my trail? How can I mark this spot? If you’ve ever asked any of these questions then this introduction to GPS (geographic positioning systems) mapping is for you. We will cover basic map reading and orienteering with GPS. Bring your own unit or borrow one of our Garmin or Trimble units. You will learn how to locate plants in the Gardens and general uses that can help you find your campsite or record the location of a beautiful wildflower field. We will also discuss how GPS and mapping are used in rare plant conservation. $46 member, $52 non-member. Day of class: $56/62. Instructors: Michelle DePrenger-Levin and Jennifer Ramp Neale
