The key to successful gardening is knowing the soil and picking the right shady characters for the right shady environment. Shade gardens that receive morning shade and afternoon sun may require totally different plants than gardens that receive six hours of morning sun and afternoon shade. Learn to do a site inventory and analysis of your prospective or existing shade garden, including soil, water, sun, shade and wet or dry elements. You will see a variety of plants suited for many types of conditions and all suited to our environment. $26 member, $31 non-member. Day of class: $36/$41. Instructor: Jackie Burghardt
