Planting the Fall Vegetable Garden

July 14, 6:00 PM-9:00 PM
Denver Botanic Gardens

$36.00 (member) / $41.00 (non member) / $46.00 (member day of class) / $51.00 (non member day of class)

It’s not too late to get a fall vegetable garden planted. There are many vegetables that thrive in cool weather and can take what Colorado’s climate dishes out – with a few hints, that is. Learn what plants you can get going now, seeds versus transplants, soil amendments and season extenders. We will also touch on harvesting, cover cropping and other strategies to boost your soil for late winter, early spring planting next season. So, if you missed out on spring/summer planting (or were decimated by hail this year) take heart! There is still time to get some wonderful produce from your garden – or even to start one. This class will give strong emphasis on crop rotation and how to accomplish it whether you have a typical plot garden or a raised bed. $36 member, $41 non-member. Instructor: Patti O’Neal
